Welcome to the Orchard Village Medians Refurbishment site, a landing place to keep you informed on and offer you a public forum for your feedback on the rehabilitation of this community gateway.
On April 1, 2015, Governor Brown issued mandatory water restrictions prohibiting the use of potable, or drinkable, water for irrigating grass in road medians. Since that mandate, the City has been working to refurbish all of the medians with ornamental turf by replacing grass with drought-tolerant plants.
The Orchard Village Road medians between Lyons Avenue and Dalbey Road present a unique challenge to the City due to their unusual size and use during the Annual Fourth of July Parade.
This website is for you – to keep you up-to-date on the progress of the medians’ refurbishment and to offer you a place to share your comments and ideas!
